History

2011

In 2011 BSS Company has shown stable growth of sales volume, increased its presence share in regions and entered new branch markets. The Company’s annual growth of sales in the RBS direction has made 30%.

Finishing of the process of the BSS’s Group of companies formation became the most essential event of the year. The new structure includes the Company’s affiliated organizations ("Single Point of Contact", "BSS Engineering", "BSS-Security") and regional representative offices in St. Petersburg, Izhevsk and Kazakhstan.

Over 40 large banks and their branches of the Top-100 and Top-300 level including banks of the CIS countries and 100% non-resident financial institutions have joined the list of the Company’s clients. Projects in the following banks became key in 2011: Sberbank, VTB Bank, Raiffeisenbank, UniCredit Bank, Uniastrum Bank, BANK ITB, SKB-Bank.

According to the conclusions made by CNews Analytics’ expert group during the annual research of the Russian market of remote banking services systems, "BSS not only has kept its leadership among Russian IT-developers of RBS systems, but has also strengthened its positions, having increased the presence share in all the segments of the remote banking systems market". Thus, in the segment of RBS systems for corporate customers the total share of BSS Company’s solutions in the largest banks of the Top-100 list has made 55,6% which is more than the last year’s values (48,4%). The same indicator among Top-50 banks has exceeded 62% (54,3% in 2010). Among 100% non-resident financial institutions the share of RBS solutions developed by BSS Company has made 60,4% (58,4% in 2010).

BSS Company has focused efforts on development of business in new segments of the market, continued improving its solutions in the traditional for the Company RBS sector and also carried the working out of new products and services with attraction of its affiliated and partner companies’ resources.

2010

The results of BSS Company’s work for 2010 demonstrate a considerable growth of sales volume, growth of the client base and high potential of the further development of business. Over 120 banks and their branches in Russia and the CIS countries have joined the number of BSS clients, the annual growth of the Company’s turnover in the "Sales" direction amounted to 86%, in the "Projects" direction — 38%. The total turnover taking into account the affiliated companies has exceeded 1 billion roubles for the first time.

BSS Company’s leadership in the RBS systems market was confirmed with the results of the annual research made by CNews Analytics: BSS has increased its market share in the segment of the largest banks included in the Top-50 list to 54,3% and in the segment of banks included in the Top-100 list to 48,4% respectively. Limited Liability Company Volkswagen Bank RUS, Hellenic Bank and other banks from the list of 100% non-resident financial institutions have become the Company’s clients in 2010.

In 2010 BSS Company continued working over the biggest projects on the development and implementation of the RBS systems in Sberbank, Gazprombank, ZAO "Raiffeisenbank", UniCredit Bank, NOMOS-BANK, JSC "Russian Standard Bank", etc.

2010 became the year of the dynamic advancement of the "Enterprise Clearing Centre (ECC)" system. In 2010 the "ECC" system has been implemented in Sberbank, JSCB "NOVIKOMBANK" and National Reserve Bank. Active development of the "ECC" system is been proceeded in VTB, Gazprombank, UniCredit Bank, BANK "ROSSIYA" and others.

Following the strategic plans BSS Company developed business in the new markets and solution segments: remote payments and money transfers automation, broker services automation, information security for banks and companies maintenance.

In 2010 the organizational structure of the Company has been extended at the expense of the industrial branch in Izhevsk, the "Single Point of Contact" (SPC) company and the "SPC-soft" company.

In the field of the RBS systems development BSS Company has focused its efforts on the developing of the functionality and innovative potential of the solutions and services.

2009
In 2009 BSS Company demonstrated a stable growth in terms of volume of sales and strengthened its market positions. According to the results of the CNews Analytics research, BSS controls more than 50% of the market in banks belonging to the top-50 level and has a strong lead in the market of RBS systems developers. Over 110 banks and subsidiaries became the Ńompany’s clients, among them are banks of the top-100 and top-300 levels: Sberbank, Open Joint-Stock Company "Orient Express Bank", Bank Tavricheskiy, "My Bank" (Ltd.), "First Republic Bank" Joint Stock Company, Open Joint-Stock Company "REGIOBANK" and etc.

One of the tangible results of 2009 became conclusion of contracts with the largest banks and corporations, such as Sberbank, Gazprombank, Transneft. During the year BSS Company has increased its presence in the market among banks with foreign capital from 54,9% to 58,6%. In 2009 the list of the Company’s clients (with foreign-owned capital) was enlarged by JSC "DnB NOR Monchebank", J&T Bank, ZAO Raiffeisenbank Austria, Svenska Handelsbanken AB and others. BSS continued the expansion of its solutions on the markets of the Commonwealth countries.

In 2009 BSS significantly increased the number of integration projects having become a full-fledged player of the market of systems integration in banking sphere. During the year the Company kept upgrading the functionality of its main products. Moreover, BSS announced new subsystems and solutions.
 
2008
2008 year was marked in BSS with a stable growth. More than 140 banks and their subsidiaries entered the Company’s client base. BSS’s solutions were a success not only among Russian banks, but also non-resident ones. The following organizations joined the list of clients in 2008: Commerzbank (Eurasija) SAO, ABM Bank, Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank and etc.

During the year BSS continued the development of new business lines. Huge interest among credit institutions attracted systems integration services, offered by the Company. In 2008 over 15 banks started the process of optimization of their IT-infrastructure and business-processes on the principles of SOA with the help of the unique platform (ESB) in partnership with the BSS Company. Among them are OTKRITIE Investment Bank (JSC), Joint-Stock Commercial bank "Agropromcredit", Nurbank (Kazakhstan), Open Joint-stock Company "Russ-Bank", "Ural FD" Bank and others.

Also BSS kept developing its traditional business lines – solutions and services for the implementation of remote banking service for private and corporate customers.
 
2007
In 2007 according to the CNews Analytics research "…less than half of the systems of electronic banking service of corporate clients market is under control of a single developer – BSS Company (46,5%). The discrepancy between BSS and its immediate competitors in terms of number of installed applications was estimated as more than significant". This year the Company saved its high rates of economic growth. More than 150 credit institutions became the Company’s clients, among them are the leading Russian high-street banks of the top-100 level, such as Commercial Bank RIB CJSC, National Bank TRUST, BANK "ROSSIYA", Joint Stock Company "Interregional investment bank", Moscow Capital Bank, and also the following foreign-owned credit institutions: Toyota Financial Services, KMB-Bank (Intesa Sanpaolo Group), Bank of Cyprus, Woori Bank, "DaimlerChrysler Bank Rus" and etc.

In summer 2007 a new version of corporate site has been put into service for the purpose of convenience of the Company’s clients. At the same period it was a starting point for the BSS’s Training center, whose main task was effectivization of RBS systems usage in credit institutions and clients service quality improvement.
 
2006
The Company's turnover is almost 1.5 as much as that of the previous year. BSS implemented over 50 large scale projects in top Russian banks, many of which are TOP-100. Over 130 banks and branches/ subsidiaries joined our customer base. The total number of credit institutions running systems developed by the Company is over 1,300.
"Enterprise Clearing Centre" gained multiple large credit institutions and holdings in Russia, thus confirming increased popularity of BSS's solutions for multi-institution enterprise financial management. In particular, "Gazprombank" concluded a contract with BSS to deliver, expand, implement, support the software complex of remote banking services and enterprise clearing centre (SC RBS-ECC).
 
2005
BSS's turnover (in the area of banking automation only) rose by more than 38%. The customer base enlarged by more than 150 banks and branches throughout RF and former CIS countries (including multiple Top-100 banks and large-scale multi-branch financial institutions). The system for quality management by BSS was certified against ISO 9001:2000 (certificate No. 177632, issued by BVQI Russia).
 
2004
The Company's turnover (in the area of banking automation only) exceeded $9 mln. BSS personnel numbers almost 200 specialists. The customer base is over 1,000 institutions. The Banker's polling showed that in 2004 BS-Client is applied in 9 (out of listed 21) top Russian banks, also listed among the top 1,000 of largest banks in the world. BSS's developments took first place by the number of implementations (as evaluated by OTR).

The Company celebrated its ten's birthday and moved to its own office building of total 3,500 sq.m.
 
2003
In 2003, over 170 credit institutions chose BS-Client to ensure on-line banking for their customers. Over 900 credit institutions in RF and former CIS countries successfully run BS-Client.

BSS developed the Retail Client system - a full-feature replicatable solution for individual on-line banking.

The retail business project was implemented in Alfa Bank. BSS's specialists developed a unique Internet-Banking system with over fifty various banking products for the Alfa Bank retail project (Alfa Bank Express).
 
2002
BS-Client crossed RF borders and started to actively win banks in Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Over 700 banks entered the Company's customer base.
 
2001
This year saw a united staff of 100 members in a new spacial office. The customer base of BSS includes hundreds of banks in Russia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova. The banks provide banking to their 15,000 customers through various available channels. The Web-based electronic subscription project is live operated for the Rospechat Agency. Presently, anybody anywhere can use its computer to subscribe to Rospechat's editions.
 
2000
BS-Client v.3 started its live operation in first banks. BS-Client v.3 is a success as BS-Client v.2 was - about 100 banks are already running various subsystems of BS-Client v.3. The "Banking Technologies" journal publishes a series of articles about the comprehensive system for On-Line Banking BS-Client v.3. BS-Client v.3 is used as the basis to start developing a new full-cycle e-commerce ensuring technology. NOMOS Bank joins the development project for Web-based e-subscription to editions to the largest Russian Agency of Rospechat.
 
1999
Significant enlargement of the Company's staff (30 people) and customer base (200 user banks) confirmed that its strategy and internal ideology are correct and sound. Anyway, we are making headway: a new system for On-Line Banking BS-Client v.3 is about to be released. This version is ideologically new from the start. The "Bank-Client" system is no more sufficient. The market has been dictating development of completely new technologies. Thus, BS-Client v.3 as a comprehensive suite of integrated (through the single banking server) subsystems of "Bank-Client", "Internet-Client", and "Telephone-Client" can be safely called a breakthrough.
 
1998
Strange as it might seem, the year of the sad bank crisis saw an upsurge of the company. September 1998 was the most fruitful throughout our history in the amount of sales. At the time, immediately after the crisis, banks had to actively introduce new instruments to attract customers and get profit. The customer base reformed and Cash Management became one of major profit sources for banks.
 
1997
Thorough analysis of the current situation on the banking automation market and experience gained enabled the Company to create the BS-Client v.2 system for electronic settlements, which is still running in multiple banks. For a company of 10 people (and yet almost unknown for the market) the sales dynamics was impressive. Over little more than a year the Company's customer base enlarged by over 100 banks, including "MENATEP", Moscow Industrial Bank, INGBank Eurasia. A small and hardly known firm gradually evolved into a "Bank-Client" developer market leader. BSS joins the "Banking and Enterprise Systems" exhibition and IBS Developers' Forum on constant terms, arranges workshops, gives lectures at conferences. The systematic and progressive growth of the Company is due to not only its carefully thought-out internal structure (conveyer principle). but also a number of underlying "Bank-Client" principles not available in any other system at the time. Major distinctive features:
  1. Ultimate flexibility of screen form generation, document types and composition;
  2. Internal event scheduler;
  3. Integration with various communication systems and cryptographic protection systems;
  4. Remote update/upgrade of client parts.

 
1996
BSS developed its first banking software - automated clearing centre for LUKOIL. It should be emphasized that in the process of close collaboration BSS's specialists would repeatedly draw attention to defects in legacy bank-client systems, which essentially hindered in large-scale development of the new on-line banking sector. Thus, it was decided to develop our own "Bank-Client" system.
 
1994
A group of enthusiasts established a firm with its major activities lying in installation of various ABSs in banks with further support and maintenance. From the start, all ABS implementation projects involved development of own supplementary modules, regarding bank reporting for the most part. During the two years, over 15 installations were performed in different banks. ABS implementation in LANGEPAS commercial bank and its four branches was one of largest and most significant projects.
