Correspondent Bank
The "Correspondent Bank" subsystem of the comprehensive system "RBS BS-Client" ensures electronic interoperation between credit institutions with correspondent relationships.
Features
The "Correspondent Bank" subsystem of the comprehensive system "RBS BS-Client" generates documents in line with recommendations of Russian National Association S.W.I.F.T. as regards usage of standards and transmission of financial messages in accordance with requirements of the Russian payment system. "Correspondent Bank" enables correspondent banks to exchange the following messages:
- ̀̉103: "Single Customer Credit Transfer" (The message can be exchanged in two directions: from the clearing centre (CC) to the respondent, from the respondent to the clearing centre);
- ̀̉ 202: "General Financial Institution Transfer" (The message is directed from the respondent to the clearing centre);
- ̀̉ 910: "Confirmation of Credit" (the message is directed from the clearing centre to the respondent);
- ̀̉ 900: "Confirmation of Debit" (the message is directed from the clearing centre to the respondent);
- ̀̉ 200: "Financial Institution Transfer for its Own Account";
- MT 192: "Request for Cancellation";
- MT 195: "Queries";
- MT 196: "Answers";
- MT 199: "Free Format Message";
- All standard documents of BS-Client (including foreign currency sale and purchase, statement and request for statement, arbitrary documents, revocation request).
Processing of documents involves the following:
- Generating;
- Validating;
- Exchange between a clearing centre, with facilities for information protection from unauthorized access;
- Printing out;
- Storing, including archives;
- Search against various parameters.
Documents can be exported/imported in the text format in line with applicable S.W.I.F.T. requirements.
Integration with external accounting systems is ensured both for the clearing centre and respondent.
Security of operations is ensured through cryptographic protection facilities certified by RF FSB, applied within BS-Client.
The figure below presents the general model of data exchange in the system:

The system supports over 40 master data registers containing frequently used information.
Corporate master data is supported by the clearing centre without the capability for respondents to edit them. The clearing centre delivers master data updates to respondents on the centralized basis.
Internal registers of master data are available for editing by respondents.
All master data is used at manual input of documents to choose and export values into visual forms fields as well as at document population accuracy checks.
Working in the system
The main system nodes are:
- Server, physically located in the credit institutions, to perform functions of the clearing centre;
- Clients, located in credit institutions that are system respondents.
Computer workstations with appropriate software installed act as the Server and Clients.
Server and Clients are connected by one of the following means:
- through the Internet (the "Internet-Client" technology);
- through a transport gate (the "Bank-Client" technology).
The figure below outlines the general model of the system:
